back-to-school

New Mexico Public Education Commission and the NM Public Education Department Charter School Division Present:

To Charter or Not to Charter? That is the Question.

Are you interested in founding a charter school? Do you think your community would benefit from a charter school? Are you curious about what charter schools are and why they exist?

During these outreach sessions, Public Education Department staff, Public Education Commission Members, and current charter school leaders will provide an introduction to charter schools in New Mexico.

Current charter school leaders and Public Education Commission members will provide varying perspectives on how charter schools benefit communities across the state and the challenges of founding and opening a new charter school. Charter Schools Division staff will provide an overview of the statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements for charter schools, and the next steps for applying to start a charter school.
