Celebrate National Charter Schools Week, May 1-5

NMCCS announces this week as National Charter Schools Week—a celebration of all the amazing things our charter schools do for kids in New Mexico!  New Mexico’s charter school movement—which serves 25,000 students in 99 schools—exemplifies the commitment to giving families high quality educational options, practicing innovative academic approaches and garnering student results.

We are especially proud to honor the charter schools who were named last week as the top New Mexico high schools in US News & World Report.

Gold Medal Awards:

  • Albuquerque Institute of Mathematics and Science-Ranked #1 High School in New Mexico (ABQ)
  • Academy for Technology and the Classics-Ranked #2 High School in New Mexico (Santa Fe)

Bronze Medal Awards:

  • Aldo Leopold High School (Silver City)
  • Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School (ABQ)
  • Explore Academy (ABQ)
  • Middle College High School (Gallup-McKinley)
  • New Mexico School for the Arts (Santa Fe)
